How to Use & Display Your Art Doll – Hiraeth Gallery

Hud a Lledrith means "magic".

Materials used in the making of this art doll: Hand sculpted and painted paper clay, hand painted and poured resin eyes, hand painted mulberry paper roses, dyed local sheep's locks, seed beads with silver triple moon (triple goddess) with pentagram and skull pendants, silver star earrings, small ceramic black cat, hand made wool felt multicoloured wool cloaklabradorite semi precious gem stone and Coturnix quail egg and dried lichen in handmade felt nest with antique brass bird skull,  besom, wool melton, wood and sheep's wool filling and locally sourced sheep's fleece.

This art doll is enhanced with the following meaningful and symbolic features:

BLACK CATS: are a symbol of the soul's mysterious coming to earthly life. Their impenetrable colour represents the enigma of the spirit's return voyage to the physical world. Standing Up Against Prejudice ; Beating the Odds; Supporting & Advocating Adoption; Elegance; Healing Abandonment Issues; Mystery; Powerful Psychic Abilities; Strength & Sensuality; Strong Personal Magic.

SILVER: Silver being a precious metal, the colour symbolizes calmness, elegance, mystery, sophistication, maturity, intelligence, glamour and also a sense of purification. If silver is one’s favourite colour then he is not the one to get swayed away by emotions but has a logical bent of mind. Symbolic of wealth, prosperity, and good fortune, the colour silver relates to success. Those who wear silver are thought to be dressed in the trappings of royalty. Silver prevails as one of the most powerful shades, making it a prominent member of the colour wheel. It is symbolic of purity, strength, clarity, focus, and the feminine energy. In alchemy, silver is one of the noble metals. Silver is associated with the feminine energy and with the goddess Artemis, the virgin goddess of the Hunt and the moon.

TRIPLE MOON (TRIPLE GODDESS)with PENTAGRAM: The two integrated symbols does not necessarily make up a new singular symbol. Rather, it's just that, two separate symbols put together. Like if a Christian were to wear a cross integrated with a fish. The Pentagram is an old ceremonial magic symbol used in Wicca, generally meaning " the earthly elements: Earth, air, fire, water, spirit," while the )O( symbol, triple goddess symbol represents the 3 phases of women's life; maiden, mother and crone.

BIRD SKULL: a symbol of death, freedom of the soul, and the freedom that comes from accepting your fate.

SKULLS: are associated with death, danger, or mortality. Is a fact that our current society predominantly associates skulls with demise and evil. But skulls do not only represent morbidity; they can also stand for optimistic ideas, like overcoming obstacles or protecting valuables.

STARS: represent divine guidance and protection. It symbolizes purity and good luck and suggests that you have reached a turning point in your life. Star evokes aspiration, inspiration and imagination. It can take you on a journey of wonder, dreams, pursuits, magic and creative brilliance.

LABRADORITE: properties remind us to keep it magical by linking us to the spirit world, a dimension where anything is possible. Other stones keep us anchored to the earth with their powerful grounding effects while Labradorite encourages us to keep our head in the clouds. Your Labradorite crystal stone inspires you to reach for the stars in your quest for a higher consciousness. Labradorite is a powerful protector of the aura, preventing energy leakage, and others from tapping into and draining your personal energy. It ensures all elemental forces are empowered and proportional within one’s system.

EGG: can mean earth, fertility, resurrection, new life, unhatched potential. Wonderful things in store for you including good luck and opportunities for wealth.

BESOM: is a symbol of banishing, fertility, and cleansing. Its earlier use was specifically for Western European fertility rites. These Western European rites are the reason why people think witches ride on their besom. Upon delivery, use the besom to do some sweeping around the birth site. The besom is a potent symbol of fertility and doing this will also banish negative energies from the mother and the baby. Doing banishing as early as the day the child is born will benefit the him or her greatly. While it does not usually touch the ground, it is used to "sweep out" the negative energies in a room, and is often held a few inches above the ground to do so.
