Mysterious Iola is crowned with an amazing headdress comprising mint silk flower, hand painted paper roses in purples and green, handmade felt bowl and several strands of iridescent teal seed beads. Her long black curly hair is welsh sheep locks. Her face is fashioned from paper clay and her deeply expressive eyes are hand painted and filled with resin.
Iola wears silver and rhinestone earrings. Her shawl is intricate layered wool felt creation with a knitted wool yarn net embedded in the handmade felt. The colours are shades of teal, blue, purple, wine, grey and white.
Her arms are full with three hand felted bowls containing a silver fish, a white opalite semi precious stone*, a miniature medical book and a small silver urn with a single hand painted paper rose.
Iola's body is formed using teal wool melton and wood. Her skirt is welsh wool sheep fleece.
*Opalite is a talisman of personal power, known to have an effect in increasing self-esteem, as well as in improving one's self worth.
