GWENDRAITH & GWYRTH, Handmade OOAK Welsh Fairy Art Doll * Mother and Child
An Ellyllon Fairy can be a WILD CHILD
"Everything changes when you have a child, have you noticed? I'm still me but I am also someone completely new. Time to celebrate!"
"Life is a series of tiny little miracles. Notice them." Unknown
New mother Gwendraith holds her precious babe, Gwyrth (means "miracle" in Welsh) in her arms. Her curly red mohair boucle yarn tresses frame her hand sculpted and painted, freckled face. Her striking green eyes are hand painted and poured resin. Gwen wears hand painted paper roses in her hair.
Around her neck, a copper seed bead necklace culminates in an old brass SINGLE SPIRAL pendant. Her earrings are matching LEAVES.
Gwendraith is cosy in her elaborate hand made felt cloak, a complicated plaid design in mustard, plum, bittersweet, maize and salmon. Her body is fashioned using dusty plum wool melton, wood and naturally sourced welsh sheep's wool. Her white gown is local white sheep's fleece.
Little Gwyrth has an overturned basket for a hat. His freckled paper clay face peers out from beneath. He is snuggled into a green handmade felt cocoon and he wears a brown seed bead necklace.
A large single CARNELIAN semi precious stone rests in a handmade felt nest in Gwen's arms. She carries a perfectly miniaturized copy of Culpepper's Herbal with tiny print and fully illustrated! It is removable so you can flip through it. Don't lose it!
LEAVES: symbolize happiness, growth and rebirth.
SINGLE SPIRAL: represents radiation of ethereal energy. It can help with balance, direction, initiation, progress, connection, expansion, awareness and all-round development. If we look at it as a line spiraling inwards, it may stand for the journey of the self from outer materialistic world to the inner cosmic world. On the other hand, if we look at it as a line spiraling outwards, it may mean the expansion of the consciousness of the self that begins at the core and spreads outwards, encompassing learning and experiences.
~ A spiral symbol represents the processes of both, creation and self-realization.
CARNELIAN: is a symbol of courage, endurance, energy, leadership and motivation. It promotes rich life force energy. The ancient Egyptians believed that Carnelian unites all divine powers.
