Beryl has my wee chocolate Yorkshire Terrier, Lulu to thank for her fine brown locks with natural silver highlights. The tresses are crowned with a handmade, locally sourced wool felt beret with a hand painted paper rose on the side.
She wears an extravagantly Fall coloured ruffle edged cape featuring luxurious gold mohair and space dyed wool yarns. Her seed bead iridescent dark green necklace has an antique brass sun pendant and an additional scrolled antique brass pendant at her throat.
Beryl's body is constructed using spring green wool melton and wood skeleton. Her skirt is natural white, locally sourced welsh sheep fleece. She has gorgeous brown hand painted resin eyes.
Her arms are laden with an abundance of gifts. As well as a lavish bouquet of hand painted paper roses interspersed with real welsh woodland moss set in a real terra cotta pot, she carries a woven basket with a handmade felt nest cradling her "for medicinal purposes only" bottle of her favourite spirit.
Beryl offers a large spotted egg* with a tiny duck** sitting astride, nestled in another hand felted nest. Both are dripping with intriguing symbolism...
