How to Use & Display Your Art Doll – Hiraeth Gallery

 Alarch means "swan".

Materials used in the making of this art doll: Hand sculpted and painted paper clay face, natural grey UK sheep locks for her wavy locks, cobalt blue seed bead necklace with antique silver tree of life and bat charms, silver feather earrings, tiny ceramic miniature swan, highly detailed miniature book (removable) in miniature willow basket, handmade wool felt bowl with (removable) amethyst semi precious gem stone, hand made wet felt cloak with locally sourced and dyed sheep's wool, large silk flower, besom, wool melton, wood and sheep's wool filling, locally sourced sheep's fleece and organza doilies.

This art doll is enhanced with the following meaningful and symbolic features:

TREE OF LIFE: symbolizes many nurturing aspects of life. In its branches, it symbolizes reaching out to accept the nourishment of the sun. In its leaves, it captures that nourishment and cherishes it through transformation into life giving food. In its roots, it digs deep into the soul of the Earth.

BAT:
Sensitivity
Bats have a heightened sense of vision and hearing that helps them to hunt for their prey in the dark. Therefore, they symbolize sensitivity to us.
Change And Transformation
Bats symbolize change and transition because they are symbolic of one’s journey from the darkness into the light. Their spirit teaches us that changes might not be easy, but if they make our life better, they are certainly worth it in the end.

FEATHERS: evoke connection to divinity and spiritual realms, a symbol of freedom.

SWAN: symbolizes love, devotion, romance, clairvoyance, inner beauty, grace, and elegance. These birds are considered sacred in many cultures; to see them is a good omen and signifies peace and contentment. In some cultures, they’re also perceived to be shape-shifters.

AMETHYST: channels divine energy for purification and wisdom. It symbolises balance, tranquillity, groundedness and calm. It can also serve as an antidote to too much wine! Amethyst can purify your energy field of unwanted energy and connect you to inner peace. Time to soothe your stress and let go of worries and tension.

BESOM: is a symbol of banishing, fertility, and cleansing. Its earlier use was specifically for Western European fertility rites. These Western European rites are the reason why people think witches ride on their besom. Upon delivery, use the besom to do some sweeping around the birth site. The besom is a potent symbol of fertility and doing this will also banish negative energies from the mother and the baby. Doing banishing as early as the day the child is born will benefit the him or her greatly. While it does not usually touch the ground, it is used to "sweep out" the negative energies in a room, and is often held a few inches above the ground to do so.
