How to Use & Display Your Art Doll – Hiraeth Gallery

 Solas means "solace".

Materials used in the making of this art doll: Hand sculpted and painted paper clay, hand painted mulberry paper roses, natural coloured locally sourced sheep locks, seed beads, antique brass acorn charm, tiny ceramic cat, miniature besom (broom), hand made wet felt with locally sourced sheep's wool, large citrine semi precious gem stone, handmade wool felt bowl, wool melton, wood and sheep's wool filling, locally sourced sheep's fleece and small split willow handle basket.

This art doll is enhanced with the following meaningful and symbolic features:

CITRINE: is considered to be a crystal that represents the manifestation of one’s desires. It is symbolic of the energy which resides in sunlight to help create new life.

The crystal affirms that negative energies and emotions can be transmuted into positive ones. It reflects one’s power of will and the ability to create with intent.
As sunlight warms the earth in the spring to encourage fertility and growth, Citrine helps to bring warmth to the heart. It beckons one to release emotional hurts and scars.

CATS: are the masters of flexibility, adaptability, magic and psychic power. They illustrate the value of being unique. Cats embody independence and communication, They help you embrace your ability to communicate with those around you or with the spirit and astral realms.

ACORNS: symbolize good health, fertility, prosperity, potential and strength. they embody immortality and celebrate life.

BESOM: is a symbol of banishing, fertility, and cleansing. Its earlier use was specifically for Western European fertility rites. These Western European rites are the reason why people think witches ride on their besom. Upon delivery, use the besom to do some sweeping around the birth site. The besom is a potent symbol of fertility and doing this will also banish negative energies from the mother and the baby. Doing banishing as early as the day the child is born will benefit the him or her greatly. While it does not usually touch the ground, it is used to "sweep out" the negative energies in a room, and is often held a few inches above the ground to do so.
